For those of you who don't yet know it, Spain, has a thriving gay scene and fairly accepting attitude to homosexuality, despite the perceived Spanish macho image. Gay partnerships were accepted here long before the UK and Spain is now becoming a hotspot for gay life in the sun. Although most major cities in Spain do have a thriving gay scene, the main hot spots are around the Mediterranean coast. If you want a holiday in the sun that caters for the gay community then Spain may be your answer.
Maybe the hottest gay areas in Spain are Torremolinos in the south (Andalucia, Malaga), where gay life has a somewhat international
Flavor due to tourism. Torremolinos has become a much more trendy, cosmopolitan resort in recent years and has a huge variety of night and day life catering for gay men and women.
Further north Benidorm is the big one for the more British style gay scene. Another huge resort visited and populated mainly by the Brits the gay life is not as open as it is in Torremolinos, however some good nights out can be had, if you can put up with the "Brits on holiday" scene.
